American Days at a Reykjavik Supermarket

On tour in Iceland we stopped at the mall before going out to the sea. The supermarket had a bunch of American flags everywhere. Hanna said that it was for "American Days", an event where they import a bunch of American food. Apparently there are Danish Days as well as sales for other nationalities.

I think America will end even worser with all those people with debts. How will the american government solve that and their highest debt in the world? How many was it? Trillions in debt?
