Why would you marry your niece? It to me is like marrying your own kids... strange, if I was powerful, rich etc. I think I could find many non-related HOT woman which would be very loyal etc.

This ISN'T "a complete History of Rome at All. We learned this stuff at school. Rome was founded 700+ years Before the Empire (where this begins)...where's the centuries of kings and the centuries of the Republic. Can American TV viewers not handle the fact that a Republic isn't an American invention?. It's institutions are named after Roman ones (the Senate?)...but the silly Romans then 'messed up'?. Actually, it makes a Lot of sense. Rome was a Republic which became an Empire. History repeats.

What happened to this type of programming on The History Chanel? Now all I can seem to find is Ice Road truckers, Ancient Aliens and Pawn Stars. Way to pander to the lowest common denominator.

I wonder what would have happened if Claudius' biological son became emperor...
NOW I GET IT. They weren't philosophers as the Greeks were, because they were too busy being brilliant engineers?
