  • I myself would have started off an instructional video with "checking the oil level" first.

But otherwise, good job and good idea to bump off the excess snow before shutting it down.

  • @goBUHuskies See my other videos. I have a seperate movie just for pre-op prep

  • Response from Certified Mechanic: @26 seconds& again @47 seconds U say, "when the clutch is dis-engaged the tires move"... "the impeller moves" OMG! Ur completly backwards! motorcycle, car, snowblower, lawnmower anything with a clutch: when the clutch is Engaged ur moving, when U dis-engage u r no longer connected 2 the engin & u r Not moving. The clutch is like an on/off switch between the engin&transmission. So U can B in gear dis-engage the clutch and stop while the tranny keeps spinning!

  • @MuhammadDarrell There isn't any standardized definition as to the engagement and disengagement of a clutch. The way it is phrased sort of determines the way you think about it...whether a clutch takes away the drive or adds to the drive. You are correct by saying that the snowblower clutch is engaged when the blade is spinning if it is stated that the clutch actively meets with the power of the engine to power the attachment.

  • @MuhammadDarrell However it is equally acceptable to say that the clutch is disengaged when the drive is spinning if you choose to say that the clutch in this case is a device which "clutches" the two drives away from eachother. It just depends on how you look at it, I probably should have clearer stated this fact in the tutorial.

  • I used my brand new Ariens snow thrower this morning and the headlight was not on. I'm guessing there is no bulb in there because the wiring looks okay and didn't find any switch. Looked in the manual and didn't find anything to help me.

  • @russelljsweet Either no bulb or the power isnt hooked up. If its anything like the machine in this movie, it is powered directly off of the flywheel. Check where the wire leeds- that's the easiest thing to do first. If the wire looks like its hooked up then id check if theres a bulb in there. Good luck!!

  • it's not world peace - but the English language is standardized. Merriam-Websters, Encarta, Oxford dictionaries.

ENGAGE: -verb Mechanics . to cause (gears or the like) to become interlocked; interlock with. DISENGAGE: –verb to release from attachment or connection; loosen; unfasten: to disengage a clutch. "dis" as a prefix reverses the meaning of the word it's connected to. Disengage - is the opposite of engage not the otherway around.

  • @jazzicron911 the old ariens deflectors are really short. I can tell from shape of the bucket that this is an older machine. Good machines, tho. Mine is much older still.

  • @TwinsTec101 You are 100% (in)correct. Ariens makes sno (thros) not snow blowers!

Impellers on all sno thros turn and throw the snow out and up through the chute. Where does all this blowing come in?
