Truth as Christ always said " Let the dead bury the dead," the Elder Lives on in Spirit as Christ did speak on us being unable to continue our spiritual life in a physical body, but in our spiritual body .

sad sad...it hurt i mon to i heart...and bring a tear to i eye...still him move on to a higher heights...a dedicated brethern to the last of his earthly being...one love

I know that the Nyahbinghi Order has a liturgy for the burial of those who have departed this life and know a few brethren who have been buried in this manner. I am also aware that the Church of Haile Selassie has burial rites. I think it is important for anyone who calls themself Rastafari to be acquainted with the particular rites of the mansion or stream of practice and observance.

Was any of the debate on the Nazerites law on the dead?
Instead of dealing with making coffins, which trap ones to this earthly time and space, the elders should be cremated, so as to speed the soul on it's way, solve the problem of landspace, and limited resources. As in India, where sandalwood logs are used to burn the bodies in a sacred way.....Just a suggestion....the Bible says "let the dead bury the dead."

@LayDeeA3
I don't know about that. I've been doing some studying and it's possible that people may have a dual consciousness upon death; on in the body and one in the soul. So on one hand yes, we want to remove the tether between body and spirit as soon as possible - yet, you must do so in a way as if the person can still [feel] it.

@mistermateriel When we - in the Way of His Majesty - speak of death it is important to add RESURRECTION... in the next parts of this series we will show and prove that ANCIENT ETHIOPIC TEWAHEDO teachings and the original idea of the first RASTAFARI that "INI nuh die!" is one and the same. The faithful are NOT "dead" and do NOT "die" rather they REST and are ASLEEP... yet there is much more. The link and explanation to ancient EGYPTIAN is revealed in teh ETHIOPIC texts and GNOSIS...

@LayDeeA3 this is interesting - the point about cremation. in fact, its biblical to cremate amongst the Hebrews as well as to bury with mummification or wrapping. Now when Christ said let the dead bury the dead... it is obvious that the one who had come was using an EXCUSE to get out of discipleship... you know, today many rases and others use such excuses not to study and practice the application of the science of the Way of the Living and overcoming Christ - thus death still exists or seems to

@Falkowski82 SELAMTA greetings my brother - since our beloved as just passed it is a little early for him to "watch over us" at this point and time as he is either travelling or in stasis if you understand the Ethiopic and the ancient Kamite books of life FALSELY called the "Book of the Dead" - the Ethiopic Church has several ancient books that deal with the journey and the encounters that a soul may go through depending upon its "life" and "gnosis" however May YAH keep His soul - AMEN and AMEN.
