@storytellerfoto this can be many things and mean diferent things to different tribes, Many feathers have important ceremonial and religious importance Decorated feathers from particular birds are sometimes attached to sacred tobacco pipes or used in altar displays during ceremonies. Decorated feathers may be used as smudge feathers, The Eagle is a messenger to the Creator When one receives an Eagle Feather that person is being acknowledged with gratitude, with love, and with ultimate respect

In a way we're in the same boat as native Americans, we got our islands taken away by white people who had guns =P And now we are fighting to keep our language and culture alive... Awesome... I'm half white and half Chamorro, and just wanna say that what happend was a long time ago and no white people to this day are responsible, they're all dead =O

The part that was so touching was the way you included as many names and dates a possible. It gave them identity rather than just a thematic subject in a photo of historical significance. The other thought was, how could our ancestors did what they did to these incredible people? Could they not see the dignified humanity, the beauty of their art, culture, customs and religion? Were they so blinded by their cultural and religious superiority complex? Was manifest destiny so demanding?
