The Pop legacy of Ennio Morricone!:

Joey Santiago is one of the most undersung guitarists in rock history. (Let's get some Pinoy love in this room!) His sterling surf leads define the indie guitar gods, Pixies, as much as Francis' lyrics.

The album "Bossanova" (1990) charges in with this subbacultcha answer to "(Ghost) Riders In the Sky". This is a cover of a 1964 song by The Surftones, with the influence of Morricone's chorals and main titles drama added. It's the kind of anthem that's so magnificent you wish it was played as your theme when you enter a room.
