The Piedmont that's still flying is a regional carrier. It's the former Henson. I'm referring to the Piedmont that merged with USAir on 8/15/89. The real Piedmont...lol
Allegheny became USAIr...reportedly Allegheny execs commissioned an air traveler preference survey that listed the various carriers as well as a fictitious "US Air" as a control name...the airline changed its name when "US Air" came out ahead of Allegheny!
Great airlines. I used to live a mile from Stapleton Airport in Denver and remember Western, TWA, Ozark, North Central, TIA, Texas International and others.
And where is Trans Global Airlines?
