Joe's POV

Katie had a fever, and at the moment I was giving her bath. I heard my phone ring and went to grab it when I realized it wasn't in my pocket.
Keilly and Emily ran in "here you go Joey, It's daddy"
"Thanks sweetie, go ahead and go sit on the couch, ask nicky and mikey to make you something"
They nodded and ran out, leaving me to answer my phone.

convo-
"hey kev"
"hi Joseph, the girls just called Dani a minute ago saying that we needed to come home? what's going on?" he asked
I sighed "Nothing kev" I didn't like to lie... but I can't worry them
"don't you dare like to me Joseph Adam, something is wrong! I don't have time to argue, we're heading to the airport in a few hours"
"but you've only been gone a few days?"
"well yes, but we need to be home, I'll see you soon, love you"
end of convo

I hung up the phone and put my head in my hands..only to feel bubbles touching my hands.
I looked up to find Katie smiling, I felt her head and it felt alittle cooler, but not by much.
"hi baby girl, how are you feeling?"
"better Joey, dank you!"
"your welcome, lets get you out and head down stairs" I lifted her out and got her dried. I changed her into some pjs and took her hand as we walked into the living room.
"Mornin' Joey" Nick and Michael smiled
I just smiled at them... I can't believe my girlfriend of almost 8 months cheated on me? I really did have feelings for her. I know most people say that after something tramatic occurs... But I do mean it.
"Dani and Kevin will be home thise afternoon" I announced
The two older boys looked at me confused, and the two youngest (minus Katie) started to walk 'quietly' out of the room.. but not before droping a bowl of ceral on the carpet....
"I'm so sorry Joey!" Emily was the first to say.... they both looked guilty and had tears falling down their red cheeks.
"I got it Joe" Nick said walking over and cleaning the milk and fruit loops.
"it's ok, it was an accident. Daddy called me this morning... him and mommy are on their way home... do you know who called them?" I asked bending down to their level.
"We did!" they cried
I pulled them both into a hug and kneeled to the ground... we all need a nap.
I don't know how kev and dani do this, day-to-day.
"shh, you're not in trouble... and I appreciate you both trying to help, but I had it under control" I started
Michael coughed loudly as did nicholas, I raised my eyebrows "uh sounds like you both either have colds... or you feel like testing my paitents?"
"well Joe, to be honest things haven't been all that great. Your trying your best, but everyone's sick... Dani's mom's sick, and to top it off your girlfriend is a huge hoe.."
"Nicholas Jerry watch your mouth!"
"Joe, he's right... but he doesn't mean it disrepectfully, we just don't get how your coping so well with all this?" Michael defended him.
I sighed and sat the girl's on the couch next to their sister who was currently listening to the conversation.
"your right Michael, I'm not coping... but its life, and I'll survive"
This time the whole family was surrounded in the kitchen.
"what's wrong Joey?" The youngest ones asked
"nothing is wrong girls, who wants to have a disney day?"
"me!" they yelled, I started to walk out with them, but I stayed back as they went to dani and kevin's room.
I pulled michael and Nick into a hug "I appreciate your guy's concern... but I'm ok, I promise" I offered a smile and got two in return.
"ya know we're always here for you Joey" Mikey said
"as I am for you both, I'm going to take a nap... mind keeping an eye on the girls please?" I asked
"sure joe"
I headed into my room, and snuggled under the covers.

I awoke a few hours later to find Kevin in my room?
"hey sleepy head, didn't mean to wake you... just wanted to check on you"
"kev? When did you get here?"
"just a few minutes ago, Nick and Michael said you were in here napping"
"oh... I've been asleep for that long?"
He nodded " I'm proud of you Joe for taking care of everyone. I love you" he said and pulled me on his lap... I snuggled into him not caring that I was 19, I loved these moments where all I had to be was the little brother... and I'm proud of it!
