This video was produced in 1988 or 1987 as part of the Sold on St. Louis campaign by John M Stephens. The video linked the St. Louis regional economic development campaign to the success of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. The song was written by Jay Oliver and featured Ralph Butler. The song was actually recorded in Jay Oliver's basement. The studio scenes shown were staged for the music video at the old Technisonic Studios in Richmond Heights, MO

There are so many ways some of these stilted, pre-fabricated civic rah-rah pieces can go wrong, and this one absolutely avoided all of them.
What a great piece of music, with an infectious hook. (and decent video, too) Extremely effective without even trying.
To give you an idea, I heard this piece 2 or 3 times over 20 years ago, and it was stuck in my head until hearing it again on YouTube.
