Lodi ~ Creedence Clearwater Revisited
A great classic song by one of America's top 60's-70's groups. The band has a complicated history. Below is a little information - and to learn further, see the link.
"After Creedence Clearwater Revival disbanded in 1972, Cook and Clifford -- who had played together since junior high -- remained close. They formed a production company together before heading off for separate musical projects, Clifford playing with the renowned Sir Douglas Quintet and Cook joining with a few former Doobie Brothers in the pioneering country-rock band Southern Pacific. When those projects ended, Cosmo and Stu hooked up again. Realizing both missed playing live Creedence music that had been lying dormant -- with ex-bandmate John Fogerty previously calling for a boycott of and refusing to publicly perform Creedence Clearwater Revival music -- Doug and Stu decided to put together their own band to perform the songs in concert." (I think this was a fantastic move on their part. Why should the music die due to years of music politics... of which some band members had no control.)

Creedence Clearwater Revival 1967-1972
Creedence Clearwater Revisted 1995-Current
Creedence Clearwater Rev recorded this 'live' in Alberta Canada in November 1997. It has 10 tracks from the original Creedence Clearwater Revival era. It is an awesome set of songs from a group consisting of 2 original band members along with 3 new members. The line-up for this recording is:
Doug Cosmo Clifford drums
Stu Cook bass, vocals
Elliot Easton lead guitar
Steve Gunner keyboards, acoustic guitar, percussion, harmonica, vocals
John Tristao lead vocals, rhythm guitar
(Not listed is Tom Fogerty R.I.P. Sadly Tom and his brother John were still estranged - from the CCR fall-out - at the time of his death in 1990.)
The Best of Creedence Clearwater Revisited was produced by Stu Cook and Doug Clifford. In my opinion, some things change... but great songs and talent stay with us. For a blast from the past, enjoy people!!
