Through It All (by Andrae Crouch)
I've Had Many Tears And Sorrows,
I've Had Questions For Tomorrow,
there've Been Times I Didn't Know Right From Wrong.
But In Every Situation,
God Gave Me Blessed Consultation,
that My Trials Come To Only Make Me Strong.
Through It All,
through It All,
I've Learned To Trust In Jesus,
I've Learned To Trust In God.
Through It All,
through It All,
I've Learned To Depend Upon His Word.
I've Been To many Places,
I've Seen a million Faces,
There've Been Times I Felt So All Alone.
but In My Lonely Hours,
yes, Those Precious Lonely Hours,
Jesus Lets Me Know That I Was His Own
I Thank God For The Mountains,
and I Thank Him For The Valleys,
I Thank Him For The Storms He Brought Me Through.
for If I'd Never Had A Problem,
I Wouldn't Know God Could Solve Them,
I'd Never Know What Faith In God Could Do
When Jone Chiu picked the song Through It All for The Channels' 35th Anniversary Thanksgiving Concert, little did he know that he would be living the lyrics out in flesh and blood! While rehearsing for the program on Saturday April 10, just 2 weeks before the concert date, Jone went into seizure (with no prior history). Subsequent tests and biopsy revealed Grade 3 brain cancer. Within days, his closest friends - Sam Wong, Calvin Lam and Ian Chan, fellow band members who have sung together since their student days - had to make an urgent decision on whether to go ahead with the concert or not. On one hand, they were sensitive to Jone's sudden medical conditions, but on the other hand, they were convinced that God will lead them through, and as a Christian band well-respected by Chinese churches in North America, Hong Kong and China, with Calvin and Jone both ordained as ministers and Sam himself a church elder, they have concluded that they will set an example for all. On April 25, the packed house of 1,800 in the audience warmly welcomed these four worship leaders and singers, and as Jone (the one with the hat) walked up to the stage half-way through the concert (after itching in his seat for over an hour as he's usually the band leader) to share his testimony and to lead this song, there is no doubt that God is in the house - He will lead Jone and The Channels through this difficult time of Jone's cancer treatment, and He will lead all of us through the ups and downs in every situation! With the same eagerness, they want to share this message with you: God loves you in all of your trials and tribulations. Please continue to pray for Jone's recovery, and for The Channels' next page in their journey."
Jone, our dear brother and co-worker in Christ. He has past away at 10:05 am this morning. We're sure that he is in the best place waiting for our upcoming reunion. Let's turn our eye upon our Lord Jesus Christ for that moment.
