Well the orks in dow 1 were just a comic relief race, in dow 2 they really beefed them up and made them a helluvalot more of a menacing look (still the comedic relief for the game, but dis here orks a biggah an' meana in dat secund humie game so da musik haz to be meana too !!!)

I think of it as a mixture of Tribal Drums and some kind of Orchestra-ified theme of some "It Came From Planet X!!!" film from the 50s. Orks are big green aliens, after all

Again, not orky enough. It's too easy to mix this up with space marines for example. Where's the rawness, where's the WAAAGH?!

I think Relic thought: Let's raise everything's level of quality; so they put more orchestra in it and lost the parts that distinguish the races. Drums for example, huge drums :)

sounds to me more like a chaos theme. Dark portals crashing open, or a massive fleet emerging from the warp above a planet.
