Building laws do suck! make sure you consult your town/township before you build one of these amazing structures. Otherwise they may tear it down if you never got permission. Educate them if they dont understand the concept and dress professionally when you meet (no hippie wear).

@soggieshorts1: I'm sure a good chunk of that $45k went to fly the Earthship team of 10 and their tools half-way around the world so they could build it. Then they were able to build a self-cooling building with a self-contained water and sewage system in a few days on a remote island that had been devastated by a tsunami, and in the process train the locals how to build new permanent structures that don't require external utility systems. Not too shabby.

@Huzar1683 trade where have you been? all over the world big governments are taking god givin rights away your gov mine its happening now. icc safe .com is a start. they will work with all the governments all over the world to enforce illegal laws on you on your home

iT IS A DISGRACE THAT THE PLANNING LAWS are making it difficult for us to build our own cheap homes. The use of tyres in earth is a brilliant use of materials taht can be reused.
The Government is the enemy of the people

Great informative video. If more people were allowed to build this way, in America we could AFFORD to stay in our houses....Change those codes!
