Embedded @ Long Forest, Vic, Australia 11 Sept 2011

This video does not completely convey the atmosphere, and especially the sonic experience, of this day in Long Forest, 45 minutes NW of Melbourne, but it should give you an idea of things. The day was part of Dale Gorfinkel's "Out Hear" series of soundwalks and performances in outdoor spaces. Dale led us on a 30 minute walk through the bush, asking us to refrain from speaking along the way so we can listen to the sound of birds and wind in the trees. When we arrived at the space, Sydney ensemble Embedded performed moving around a large area, serenading the audience and interacting with the environmental sound.
