JAN. 25, 1978 Hanoi radio reports that the Khmer Rouge have driven into the Southwestern Vietnamese provincial capital of Ha Tien.
FEB. 5, 1978 Hanoi proposed cease-fire and negotiation with Cambodia.
FEB. 8, 1978 Cambodia rejects Vietnamese's truce offer.
FEB. 9, 1978 Hanoi accuses Cambodia of responding to its peace proposal by launching new incursions into Vietnam.
FEB. 21, 1978 Vietnam accuses China of arming the Khmer Rouge and encourage Phnom Penh to refuse negotiation.
MARCH 19, 1978 PM Pol Pot reiterates his opposition to Vietnam's alleged plan for an Indochinese federation of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
APRIL 12, 1978 Cambodia reports that it have repulsed a Vietnamese attack into its territory the previous week and has killed 560 of the invaders.
As above mentioned, how on earth could Khmer Rouge soldiers attack Yuon Vietcong in order to liberate Kampuchea Krom people from Yuon Communist, Colonialists and Imperialists starting from 1977 to 1978 while nearly all Khmer Rouge soldiers were secretly butchered everywhere in Cambodia by other Khmer Rouge who were pro-Hanoi/Yuon Citizens/Vietcong who perfectly impersonated themselves as the leaders of super-illiterate-ignorant Khmer Rouge yotheas and former cruel bandits? There are three reasons:
First reason - Yuon Hanoi as Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon knew very well that nearly all Khmer Rouge soldiers were nearly brutally liquidated. As Samdech Euv Sihanouk clearly tells his Khmer children about super-dirty demonic plans of Yuon Communist leaders:
Anyone well acquainted with the Vietnamese Communists knows they never do anything that is not well thought out, carefully and logically planned. And if at first they don't succeed, they try, try again.
Second reason - Yuon Hanoi as Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon knew very well that all Cambodian people who really hate Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon in their guts because Yuon secret agents sent all these secret information from its Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon to Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon in Hanoi was to give a green light to come-and-rescue-operation of Cambodian victims from the hell on earth that was secretly created by Angkar Leur/Cap Tren Yuon in Hanoi:
First they wanted to feel out the enemy, gauge its strengths and weaknesses in terms of traditional warfare. In addition, they judged it indispensable to prepare a solid "pregovernmental base" for their puppets, meaning Heng Samrin and his cohorts. The proto-government would need people to rule over, a civil service, and an army.
Third reason - it's high time, perhaps, for Pol Pot, who knew too well that his Khmer Rouge soldiers were nearly all destroyed everywhere in Cambodia, he had no other choice but had to send them to make war against Yuon in Srok Yuon was to bring all Yuon Vietcong (60,000) who were secretly hiding everywhere in Cambodia:
From this point of view, the partial Vietnamese invasion of self-style Democratic Kampuchea had the desired effects predicted by Hanoi's military strategists and political technicians.
It is more likely that Vietnam's plan was to mislead international opinion and at the same time encourage the sadly deluded Pol Pot regime to rest on its laurels. From their reputed defeat the Yuons came back to take over Kampuchea completely in December, 1978, and January, 1979, showing that the earlier attack had gravely wounded and weakened Pol Pot's regime. Sometimes they may wait years, even decades, for just the right opportunity to take their lethal revenge.

Khmer Rouge soldiers were standing proud that they used riffles and pistols to intimidate people but they could kill people using axes and hoes rather than bullets. Khmer Rouge = The wickest and most ruthless Asian gang ever seen.
