this reminds me of when i was at basic. my drill sergeant told us you wont believe what you can find in peoples lockers during inspections. he said he was going to inspect a locker and the dude apparently had shitty underwear in there from the beginning of the cycle

Does not surprise me.

Lol, "threaten to shoot one of them"

@Robbob9933 : ok, ... I misunderstood, "3 meals in 5 days". In regards to the reservists mess; I know all about "shit detail" brother. Did 2 west pacs as radio op attached to combat engineer platoon. Engineer plt was attached to the company. The company shit details were bestowed upon engineer plt, & I (1 single Marine) was attached to Engineers. If engineers was the company's butt, I was surely the engineer's butt hole, ....but hey, approx 30 ys later, still alive here w/ all limbs. Semper Fi.

@DonTerhune1200cc Three meals in five days was not much. I only recall crawling in to the ole pup tent twice. We got thrashed upon arrival because reservists the previous weekend had left trash all over the place. They stayed we paid.

@Robbob9933 : 2 & 3 meals ain't bad. In early '82 (during ICT training on PI) we were taught 1 meal per day minimum. I forget the sleep minimum but am sure it was seriously low. Basic was 11 weeks long. I recall our 2nd DI kneed a recruit in the groin & literally lifted him right off the ground. (I'm amazed he wasn't hauled out on a stretcher). As the recruit was bent over in pain, the Di was striking him, yelling "stand at attention"!! This was just 1 of many harsh disciplinary wake up calls

@DonTerhune1200cc General Grey Made some really good changes and some not so good. The vaunted Crucible is no where near what Elliots Beach or the San Diago version up in Camp Pendleton were. The 52 hours of minimal sleep and two MREs are not the same as five days of minimal sleep and 3 C Ration boxs were they confiscated the goodie pack. I hear they can not call that big hill in Camp Pendleton "Mount Motherfucker" anymore, sad times if true.

@Robbob9933 : How can this take place? ... Better yet, .... How can this get so far w/o immediate action being taken? It's not like the guy was alone w/ his own footlocker to toss a shit collection into on a regular basis. (lmao). This story makes about as much sense as someone saying they grew mangos in Alaska. Semper Fi !

Recruit threatened to shoot the DI? Man, if anyone did that in platoon 2008 3rd btn in Jan 1982, my 1st Di definitly would've beat him to death (or near death). I guess some things really have changed in the USMC over the years. Actually I started to see some of these changes in '84. Semper Fi

I had a roommate like that when I lived in the barracks while stationed in Germany. I was laying on my bunk when he came in from work and took his clothes of. I started to smell shit - not a fart - ripe shit. I glanced up and saw him toss his funky ass drawers that had thick, caked on pad of shit, into his locker. Then I saw shit smeared up the side of his ass as he was putting on his cleanest dirty pair of pants. I hated living in the barracks!!!
Why the fuck was he doing that, man? Do you know?

@yesiamawizardjonny Nope. I saw the guy once. There was definitely something wrong with him.

ok either this documentary is complete garbage, this guy is telling a joke/lie, or the kid had really bad hygiene ethics and did not know how to clean himself hence why he joined the military to get away from that garbage family. I dont know, but i am beginning to think the military is full of whiners. When you sign that dotted line, you sign your soul away. You have to put up with what ever gets dished out to you, allk i hear is baby talk.
