A somewhat overblown arrangement.
Played at closedown - remember closedown?
Caught by accident after a Jacques Tati movie...Anyway, after closedown it crosses (as they did) to Nat Rad, hence a few seconds of the late, the great, Relda Familton.
All together "Gah defenNewZeeeeeee gasp Lan".

  • The only two tv stationas would shutdown for the night and the crew would go home. That is closedown

  • Is closedown the equivalent of sign-off in the USA?

  • I left that country more than 10 years ago and I am in no way a patriotic New Zealander, but this is by far the best version of the greatest national anthem in the world.

  • Love the 80's childhood memories.

  • TVNZ needs to start playing this at 6AM again.

  • I love New Zealand

  • It is a tree that will be part of the huge sustainable logging / forestry industry in NZ.

  • This is a fantastic video, but I am a bit offended by the scene at 4:00-4:02. Cutting down trees (probably native forest) is a sign of destruction of nature, not a sign of progress. But other than that, excellent scenery and music.

  • @JerrySpringerRooms just as well we don't burn much then aye

  • That was really beautiful !!
