I am 13, I am Cherokee, I love my land of Georgia. It is my home, my lifeland and I hope to never leave it for another. I wear my feathers in my hair, I sing my morning song, I bead, I am in touch with my heritage and I love it.

We are keepers of the earth.
Is a gift that we are to share with each other for little while.
Let us come together in a pow wow, a fellow ship of peace and love.

Even if I did not understand one single word in this song, the spirit still comes through and I am deeply moved by the harmony.

I hope that Rita, golden-voiced that she is, is always careful as the Cherokee have the backing of the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 ...wonder how Rita came up with the word Walela instead of waleli
follow in your heart.....that is all you can do.........in native culture..."gift" is magic....you give...in secrecy.....the recepiant is not the rewarded...the giver is.......in the Spirit world...for giving of him/herself......
