@cciemail You're a moron. Eric Clapton? Yeah, Clapton, Buddy Guy, BB King, and some of the most sought after studio musicians have praised Mayer for his modern blues style. If you don't like him, fine, but to say he sucks is savagely idiotic. Yeah, I hate his bubble gum pop radio hits, but so what, he's still an excellent guitarist. And you're hero (Clapton) has nothing but good things to say about Mayer, and invites him to jam. So shut the fuck up newb.

whoever says that this guy sucks clearly is either close minded, deaf or hasn't seen him live... he's a great guitarist. Not the best ever, but damn good. Awesome rhythm skills as well. But to say he sucks, I mean come on. (maybe just not your taste)

i enjoyed him in crossroads 2007 more i thought his vocals and the song configuration was better, but still a very good musician

@cciemail good guitarists like Eric Clapton who INVITE John Mayer to play shows with him? GREAT guitarists like Eric Clapton have been hailing John Mayer as the next generation of guitar hero. You are more than welcome to not like his music or interpretation, but to say someone sucks who could EASILY play circles around you and will go down in history as a great guitar player is just arrogance or plain old stupidity.
