Setting food prices in the United States - 11 April 08

Speculation in the commodities markets is one reason why food prices are soaring.

Traders in the U-S are buying up food-related stocks, hoping for higher returns.

And its all happening in Chicago where global trends are analysed and food prices set.

I have switched to store brands and using coupons as much as possible to keep the grocery bill in check. I've eliminated alcohol except for special occasions. A hour or two with the Sunday paper clipping coupons is well worth it!

Government are willing to spend all the money in the wrong places, and not willing to help its own people in the USA. They spend so much money in oversea and not willing spended it. I am applaud with government toward us all. Lots of talk and less action does not justified. I am angry, that the people in our own street are having hard time even finding job or having enought to eat. This should not be! I am ashame and angry with the government, who can not control their spending, with our money!

If the us govertment would just lower it's so call defense budget,reduces it;s oversea "Commitments" and the American public would live more frugal life less fossil fuel dependent,you guys and the world would be a better place.Also get rid of your FED,their are printing too much fiat money thus debasing the currency of the states and also the world world.
