Hyperinflation will not occur when the Banks are selling off foreclosures because foreclosure sales depress prices. In the 1970's the higher inflation was set off in 1976 when foreclosures ran out. Then in 1976 Real Estate jumped 30%, 1977 another 30%, 1978 another 30%, 1979 another 30% and in 1980 Real Estate was quadruple the price it was in early 1976. By 1987 it was eight times the price it was early 1976.
