  • In Georgia, if you respond without the siren and hit someone even if it is their fault, it is YO ASS.

  • @emtblack-IQ26 I blare the siren as little as possible - only as needed. Just like here.

Even athe beginning I would not sound airhorn because he was turning right. Righturns have right-of-way anyway over lefturns.

Police have followed me and have cited drivers, mostly Mexicans, who did not pull over.

By coordinating our lights, I made themuch moreffective. Drivers pull over without our needing the siren. Residents appreciate it.

  • @robertgift

Ok next time you need EMS you tell the dispatcher to tell the EMTs responding to not use there siren, then when EMS finally gets there you'll change your mind about the sirens we use. Sirens are meant to get to the patient faster and widen the chance of their survival. You'r probably one of the assholes that doesn't pull over when you hear the sirens anyways and If you do, don't ever come to NC cause if you don't pull over for me I call in your tag.

  • Dude..sirens are on emergency vehicles for a reason...go take your speech somewhere else about saving fuel and the the earth and whatever the hell your saying...u complain all the time..if you dont like sirens then petition against them, your wont get anywhere, but if it satisfies you..do it

  • were you going to a Alfa or Bravo call?

  • Sorry. I forgot who sent what.

We have siren turned on. Sounding only when needed.

  • ive already sent you multiple links on the subject, and feel free to call up the state, ask, call up any department, ask. Feel completely free to find out exactly what our law says. you state all these "instances" that you didnt use a siren and they moved. I can tell ya, ive used a siren many many times and had many of these same instances, and guess what, THEY MOVED!!! People hear sirens and they become more alert. Plus they know that your still going mobile if your stopped clearing cars.

  • I've worked in CA, PA, MI, CO and have observed in a lot more.

Drivers are much the same everywhere.

I bet your "law" does not require siren.

    The smarter states do not.

We make the same runs mostly quietly where others needlessly distrub the peace and annoy the public.

The public becomes tired of and "jaded" to the non-stop sirens and does not react.

  • until you come to my state, change the law, and watch people not move at all, then i might even think about listening to all this needless babble about how your mr. right and yet you have no proof to back up your claims whatsoever. your not changing anything, your just babbling on.

  • Who cares what morons vote?

    The issue is not me.

    It is annoying others needlessly.

    It is impeding traffic needlessly.

Like the guy who blares his siren so that traffic ahead pulls over and stops.

He is turning right before he even gets to that traffic. Why cause them to wear brakes, waste fuel used to create momentum, then more gas and more pollution accelerating again?

Here this guy has right-of way, anyway. Why the horn at all?

A fire captain said: "Use the siren sparingly"
