what would you say is the most common bait for the steelhead through the ice, i flyfish for them religiously but have never ice fished for them and it seems like something i may be interested in. If you can give me a general idea about what they use, primarily what type of jigs, colors and what they tip the jigs with.
1/32 oz. black or white jigs tipped with a maggot or wax worm, egg sacs, or minnows work fine. Fish your "bait" under a small float.
