Kurt Elling is my favorite male jazz vocalist. When I 1st heard this song years ago when it 1st came out, I instantly fell in love with his voice and was hooked ever since. He can hold a note for an eternity.....
Great voice and song. Hardly the best ever, though. Let's not forget Cole, Hartman, Eckstine, Prysock, Sinatra, etc... today, Mahogany, Gates, Murphy, etc.
I heard this on K-Jazz in LA while I was driving. I became mesmerized & had to pull over so I could give him my full attention. His performance is achingly beautiful.
