A bug on the original version released where you could get easy credits. It was fixed for later versions.

The star system Cemiess has made Gem Stones and Precious Metals illegal, and will pay you ridiculous amount of money to take them. You can then sell them at a nearby system for even more money.

Here's how to do it right from the start.

  • Sigh! there's really nothing like the feeling of fragging your first cobra! Even better if it's with a phlaschygt. (A beam laser is better, but if you have a maneuverable ship, then unless you're under attack by an imperial courier then a pulse will do just fine.)

  • I love the electronic 'In the Hall of the Mountain King'.

  • I hope he spent his first wages on a beam laser. Pulse lasers suck.

  • Many, many hours of my childhood were given to this game! On the Amiga, of course.

  • There's a faster way to do this. You can just burn about 250 million km out from the station so you're outside police scanner range and then jettison the precious metals in space. Seems like a waste but it's much faster. Then you turn around, head back to the station and repeat. For bigger ships, you can fill the huge cargo by keeping the illegal exchange open and fast-forwarding. It'll restock 4-5 units per day and never closes!

  • @deeb1978 hehe, that'd be the 1.2 i was on a 1200 with a PPC @ 160 + an 040 @ 25+ FPU on a bed of 64 mb ram, through mediator Voodoo 3 3k and a SB 128 sound card,

My 1200 was one of the best around at the time (1998 - 2004)

  • lol I used to play this on A600 mate, the frame rate wouldn't allow that 'degree of control'...hahahaha!

  • ahhhh the piracy thing, memories. :D so many memories.

  • @deeb1978 only 1.2 AU? lol i had it into the kms before hitting AP in a falcon. :D

  • Yes, NTSC has a lower resolution. But Frontier is made to fit on NTSC, zo your screen is better filled. In PAL mode you have a thick black section underneath, like you see in this movie.
