That is a very ironic statement to make about Dr. El Saadawi since a large portion of her views consist of Egypt and Africa being under the control of the Western colonialism. Yes, she is against the oppressive government of her own people, but she makes just as strong an argument against the Culture of the west and the power the US holds and uses to control countries like Egypt.

she hardly spoke of religion, let alone islam. religion isn't everything, its nothing but a spirtual thing that u shouldn't work so hard pervert it.
sad to see that people around the world appreciate her, and her own people constantly condemn and damn her!

What an idiotic notion. Nawal El Sadawy is her own wonman with he own views, she is not subservient to anyone. She went to jail in 1980 for expressing her views, so to suggest she sold her soul is nonsense. She is a proud Arabic lady who stands for wiomen's rights in the arab world. god bless her.
