Goldenweiser was a pupil of Siloti and Pabst and teacher of a.o. Tatiana Nikolaeva, Lazar Berman and Dimitri Bashkirov.

Goldeweiser lived for serveral years in contact with Scriabin, occasionally serving as the accompanist for his concerto, and participating in 1909 in the foundation of young Scriabinians. During Scriabin's lifetime he was one of Scriabin's most active interpreters.
