Woohoo one whole year of making videos! Here's a preview of whats to come in the next year...

In 1969's "The War Games", the 2nd Doctor was captured and put on trial by his own people, the Time Lords. Sentenced to exile to Earth and a regeneration, we never actually saw the physical transformation (due to the fact Jon Pertwee had not yet been cast). In this video, i've moved the show from black and white to colour with a regeneration made using Sony Vegas.

New Who fans, you thought David Tennant's regeneration was traumatising enough, imagine not knowing if there was gonna be a new Doctor?

  • What were the clips of the tardis coming around the Doctor from?

  • @DoctorWhoFanactic I actually merged the TARDIS reforming from the end of The Mind Robber with the images of the spinning Doctor from The War Games.

  • I've always wondered how the Regeneration Scenes were done! Does anybody know how they were done?

  • @WLFP80 The 1st one was achieved purely accidentally, originally it was supposed to just be a cross fade but some clever person discovered exposing the lens created a cool effect. 2/3 wasn't shown, 3/4 was poor in comparison to the 1st one but from 4/5, proper elecrtronic effects and CGI were used. The current effect is, in my opinion, the definitive regeneration, and it will be used as standard from now on.

  • It is ten billion pities, that we never got a proper regeneration scene from Troughton to Pertwee. imust say this vid is really good in billions of ways, and it is well done all round.

  • @rojblake82 Thanks, it was my first proper try at anything like this. Hopefully a year on I have developed it :D
