Guess what?? ZENYATTA, is the 2010 HORSE OF THE YEAR.

And BTW ashley, costly, sandhorse, et al, Zen has no say in who she races against. Won the Apple Blossom 2 years in succession, beating a champion older mare in Ginger Punch in that initial running, in only her fourth career start. She just beats them all, save one. More than that, she races them off their feet and into R&R. St. Trinians has been on the sidelines since being defeated. I just don't understand the negativity. Sour grapes?

I would have loved to see these two race. Ah well, they both are going down in the history books. Rachel Alexandra for winning the Preakness, very impressive filly and Zenyatta for pretty much being the best filly of all time. Winning 19 of 20 races is beyond impressive. So sad she got beat by a nose in the Classic :(. Zenyatta, the queen of racing, hands down.

She beat the top males last year in the 3y.o. and up catagory. She's carrying more weight than most of these males and most of all the competition she's faced in the last 10 races she's won. She beat everyone she's faced. She's passed everyone she's faced. There isn't a horse out there that can hold her off

Shed be in the top 20 Fillies of All time

If she wins the classic again, against another weak field, she will be in the top 10 Fillies and Mares, and would sneak into the top 50 just because of the 2 Classics in name, not in strength of form.

You better hope she wins or she will forever be known as the most overrated horse of all time.

Horse of the Year is called HOTY because its about the WHOLE year.

A champion competes in at least 4 TOP races a season....not 1

Zenyatta ducks top male company all season and does not leave California

1 Breeders Cup race does not make you horse of the year, never mind the century as you are implying with your "shes better than Secretariat" statement.

She beats bad fillies by half a length at 1/10 every race, its so boring

I dont think you can call the Ladies race a "classic" its a fillies race.

Top 5 what? In america this year, For sure. She has to win to have any chance of horse of the year.

She will never be seen as good as Secretariat or Man O War, thats an insane statement.

You say quality competition but lets be honest, she beat average fillies all year, its hardly dominating the open races.
