Yikes! I remember this show! I was young enough that I watched it for Rowlf, but still.....I'm feeling old now.

Kermit is nothing compared to Rowlf. Who do you think Jim Henson liked so much he had to get the licensing to when he was older for his muppets!! Rowlf rules!!

Well, Rowlf hasn't talked much since Henson died. Besides, Kermit was on TV years before Rowlf was.

I'm a bit confused. Is that Jim Henson's Rowlf? But 1963-66 the Muppets hadn't been invented yet and even Sesame Street hadn't started, or had it?

The muppets had been invented and Sesame Street was not the first muppet production. It started with Sam and Friends, a small time show in washington.

The Muppets was introduced in 1955 with a show called "Sam & Friends". Kermit was the breakout star of the show.

However, this purple skull called Yorick was more popular.

It is, and the Muppets actually started in the late 50's with Sam and Friends. Look up, Muppets Celebration of 30 years and you'll see what I mean.
