This is a very lovely song that was used as the theme song to the PBS presentation of "The Civil War". It's slightly altered in this video to save your ears a lot of hardship. Though it can be played on the pennywhistle, my Burke in D gets pretty loud on the upper range so I never play it "correctly" unless I'm outside.
I just added the tabs to my website, which is riiiiiight....here. http://www.freewebs.com/helioignus/fingeringcharts.htm

  • @ashleybethany In the tab it says a Burke pennywhistle. They are very expensive unfortunately.

  • Very nice! As one who does this on harmonica, I understand the adaptation required to make it sound good.

  • Good job. What key of pennywhistle are you using? I've been trying to figure out how to play this song on a Dmajor whistle, and I can't quite get it.

  • Sweet. Thanks for posting that. That's nicer than just moving the low parts up and the high parts down. Well done.

  • Amazing! Loved it.

  • Great playing....

  • You're right, IT IS lovely!

  • That was great, 5 stars!!!
