I finished a new resistive ballast for my pole pig today and this is a test run. Power is fed off a 30A 240v breaker connected to the dryer outlet and into a water resistive ballast. There is a sliding arm that vary's the resistance thus controlling how much current it draws. It is somewhat lossy but it works good inough until i find a sutiable core for a inductive ballast.

  • Awesome, TCG. Been a while since we spoke about this on 4hv. It's great to see it working!

  • Yeah! That thing already has got some really good sound at 30 Amps :)

Maybe you should work on a contract with your local power-supplier for a direct line with virtually unlimited current. ;)

BTW: Did you read my comments on your other vids?

  • nice ... looks like it needs sometime to warm up ... are u useing an ionsenicatave ballast ... such as water or pvc?

  • Yo Shusuke, these look like analog rabbit ears that are supposed to be gone in a month or so. ;p
