one of the best versions, along if not next to dessay's. That third G was incredible. If you've got it flaunt it. This aria was probably meant for insertion in Alceste, but not all singers of their day have vocal reach comparable to the two (Josefa and Aloysi) only Lucrezia Agujari could match them (or go a bit higher). The thing is if you were born with this voice, go there, when an artist dies, critics and non- fans will be nice.

Involontairement!

At certain moments she could not control some notes. But it is very good.

@verdinfishy I meant every single moment of every single day, oh well... be fine Theo

@LohengrinT I could tell you what you deserve to hear but I am sure you already know it. Just lets leave it by saying that I am so, but SO, lucky that I have to deal with people like you only a little fraction of my time while you have to be with yourself every single day of every day...
Try to have a nice day.

no good manners from me for 3rd class hairdresser shop ladies with absolutely no education that shows :p

@LohengrinT We both like Ewa Podless, Ingerborg Hallstein (who also adds high notes to the pieces she sings), and of course Maria Callas.
I just don't like it when you use derogatory adjectives to describe singers (or how they sing) who work really hard to deliver their art. In my opinion, not everything must be dramatic, it is nice to, every now and then, just listen to music for the sake of enjoyment. Not only use your mind but also show some respect and good manners, mr. fine gentleman.

young opera lovers get impressed by coloratura like little kids with a new toy - later on you develop a certain culture about coloratura - Im not at all interested insto analyzing this voice, if u wanna make this discussion follow me in my comments in truly important coloraturas that I only comment - try to think on what I say, process the info in your mind - use your mind :p

@LohengrinT What do you mean "coloratura atrocities"? u just stated that you almost fell asleep and fell off your chair, that gives me the impression that u didn't even listen to the whole thing or paid much attention. So, please be kind enough to explain how can you have an opinion of something that you were not even paying all the attention that you could have paid.
I think that just because it doesn't interest YOU doesn't mean that you have the right to call this an atrocity. Just my opinion
FINALLY, someone who can hit those Gs (1) on pitch, (2) at full volume, (3) with confidence, and (4) without breaking character. For once, they actually sound like they fit in the melody instead of being forcibly shoved on top. And that final G... that was something I always imagined Aloysia Weber doing - from what I understand she was quite a show-off, often embellished final cadences, and according to Mozart, the G was comfortably within her range, as it seems to be with Hoch.
