Visitors experience wave energy at the Wavestar test machine in Hanstholm

In February 2011 visitors from Siemens Wind Power were visiting the Wavestar wave energy test machine. The visit took place in stormy weather so the machine was in storm protection and the floats were up. The machine is accessed by foot via the 300 meter long gangway.

Wavestar is the strongest wave power concept. It leads the race to turn ocean power into unlimited clean energy. Test and research machines have been operating in the North Sea and the Danish fjords since 2006 and they are among the first wave energy machines to be connected to the grid. The commercial 500 kW machine will soon go into production. Wavestar will work in harmony with other clean energy methods to support the movement towards alternative and sustainable energy.
