Welcome to the Oaklawn 2007, our 103rd year of racing excitement. Once again we had a memorable year of racing in 2006, including the largest crowd ever at Oaklawn, 72,464, on Arkansas Derby Day. Since then we eagerly enjoyed the Simulcast Season, including the continued fine performances by stars of the 2006 live meet, the continued growth of Instant Racing and eventually by the addition of electronic games of skill, which should pay off for the entire community over many years.

Record projected daily purses have helped lure most of the key stables from previous years back to Oaklawn in 2007. Racing Secretary Pat Pope's office is expecting to average $290-300,000 per day in purses, up significantly from 2006. Maiden special weight races will carry a lucrative $32,000 purse and the lowest claiming races will have a minimum purse of $11,000. Thanks to the successes of runners like Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex and Steppenwolfer over the past three years, a solid group of three-year-olds are anticipated for the Oaklawn series that includes the Southwest Stakes, Rebel Stakes and Arkansas Derby. With so many quality horses, trainers, owners and jockeys involved with Oaklawn on a daily basis, we anticipate more quality and quantity in the racing programs than ever. With our strong Simulcast Network, we anticipate more play on Oaklawn races than we have ever enjoyed.

Then, of course, there is the combination of Instant Racing and electronic Games of Skill. We have seen incredible growth for this electronic gaming system from our many patrons here at the track. Instant Racing has brought significant numbers of people to Oaklawn, provided millions of dollars in purses for horsemen and turned this into a 12-months a year entertainment center. The November addition of electronic Games of Skill has only intensified the excitement at Oaklawn and helped build the kind of purses that ensure the quality of racing that will take place at Oaklawn for years to come.

If you enjoy Instant Racing and Gaming while you are here at the track, here's your invitation to join the Winner's Circle Club. That special player's club offers lots of special opportunities for all Gaming players. Check in at the Hospitality Desk in the Instant Racing/Gaming room for all the information.

We're ready to continue big things and glad to have you along with us!!
