The Burma Road in India's North East was the site of historical battles and hard-fought victories during the Second World War. It was laid by the Chinese in 1937. Running from India to Myanmar through Moreh, and on to Kunming in China, it joins Japan through the Ledo Road. Initially used to transport supplies to Rangoon during the Sino-Japanese war, The Burma Road soon grew in significance.
