George Orwell nailed the concept in "1984" and APC did a great job expressing the concept which can be applied to many different situations. This song is kick ass!

I've always felt the song is sung from the perspective of a tyrannical government that feeds off of the ignorance and trust of its people. Since knowledge is power, the ability for an entity to control the level of thought and how an individual and the majority thinks is total power. Reality exists within the mind ie. 2+2=5. The line, "Hush child, I won't let the boogie man come" is an example of the dehumanization that has been used throughout history.

Why Islam? It's one of the few monotheistic religions that allow the exploration of deeper answers.

WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Falklands, Napoleonic wars, Iran Vs Iraq, Crimean war, Russia Revolution, Stalin's Purges, Mao's Purges, Tiananmen Square, the Opium wars, the 100 years war, William the conqueror, Genghis Khan are all conflicts not created directly from religion. and you think the world would be a better place if it were gone? and HBRband it's easy to bash muslims because of terrorism, but i'm sure the majority are good people.

no. world war two was not about religion. It was about economics and making Germany a great economic power. it was about lebensraum or 'living space'. the slaughter of 6 million jews was Hitler's scapegoat. you say "most" conflict or wars about religion, then list them. which ones exactly? you think atheists don't commit crimes? I can assure you that they do. A lot of supposedly religious wars are wrapped in politics and economics. it sounds like YOU need to learn your history mate.
