@MangledBizarre Well, it is a great song. I was born in 1962, so I was young when this was being played on the radio. Gotta say, most seventies rock songs were much too looooong! Not much variety in the lyrics, often just the chorus over and over. Not much variety in the music, beyond the "hook" at the start of the song. Not meant to be listened to, but rather like background music, elevator music! Boring. This is why I moved on when the New Wave arrived!

@panzerfaust54 my dad had 2 years in navy was drafted from memphis navy yard his XO went to nashville army with my dad (in uniform)his rank seaman E-3 recruiter looked at paper work said WELCOME TO THE ARMY the XO a LT.JG asked how they could take him the army guy said RESERVE TIME DONT COUNT only officers are exempt from draft but got same job in army he was a SP in navy brig became MP in army for 31 years he retired from army had huge anchor tattoo on his left arm a SGT- MJR

This song was popular in 1972 when I was drafted. For me, it was like Argent was singing directly to me. This song helped me through a difficult time, thanks, Rod!
