Technology enabled the rise of digital media, which in turn transformed the meaning of communication in the contemporary world. Information plays a central role in the evolution of society, and today, also by supporting technology and the media that gave it power in the first place. Globalization is the most evident effect of this process.
A negative side effect of such a seemingly limitless flood of information, is a decrease of meaning. Failure to put meaning behind the messages we send and receive create informational wastelands. These wastelands, in turn, hinder effective communication and may even be counter-productive.
This animation follows a possible pattern of such communication and urges one to think about the importance of responsible communication in an environment that almost entirely depends on it.
