  • I find it a bit odd that there are two white people interviewing themselves to ponder why there are "no black women writers." Of course black women still have a need to express our stories...

  • As an influential, successful Black author, I strongly disagree with the subject matter characteristic of this video. There are many Black authors who are publishing good literature, and thousands upon thousands are purchasing Black books abroad. -- D. Allen Miller, the author of "Scarlet Tears" and "Staggering Heights"

  • In examining this interview and the subsequent comments; the accents of the participants led me on a search to discover the country where this dialogue is taking place. The Sunday Times is a United Kingdom Newspaper. In the UK, there may be a shortage of Black Writers: it is not the case here in America.

  • Yes of course, ask a white man about black problems...as usual they know better. white supremacy

  • There are many, many black writers. Blacks are buying books and reading more than any other segmen right now. It's a travesty that lies begin and are then propagated by people who don't do their research.

  • It's propaganda.

  • I'm a black female writer finishing her first novel and the reason why I feel there are not more black writers is because a writer is not a profession that is highly respected in the black community. Also, the number of people who read in this country is steadily decreasing. I have seen reports/numbers that black men barely read novels at all. So if a black woman is writing about the black experience, in general black women (who read alot) are the only reader base that a black writer has.
