The Rabbit Haven rescues injured and abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or the SPCA in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito and Monterey Counties. We then work to place these rescued rabbits into loving permanent or foster homes. The Rabbit Haven also works in the community, at schools, and with our local SPCA shelter and other education groups to educate the public on rabbit care, feeding, grooming, medical needs, social requirements and behaviors.

Well, rabbit are kind of the best of both worlds. You can litter box train them (preferably indoors) like a cat and they clean themselves, but they are are more loving than most cats. Although a rabbit wouldn't go on a hike with you, I'm sure there are videos showing them fetching :) Honestly, I LOVE dogs, cats, and rabbits so I don't think one id better than the other. If I were you, I would sit down with your sister and figure out what both of you want in an animal. Also, please adopt!

My rabbit Coco passed away unexpectedly a few days ago. It was so heartbreaking. I had just finished remodeling her indoor cage, left for the living room to watch some TV, and came back to find her on her side barely breathing. She passed before I could even call a vet. Even worse, she was only ten months old. I plan on adopting a rabbit from a no-kill shelter a few towns away (my town has nothing but a regular shelter that only has dogs and rarely cats). We have a pet store, but I wanna adopt!

Mine too... I was heartbroken, but then started reading about places like this. What I want to do is adopt one from a no-kill shelter (lhs in Kentucky) in my state. all their animals are fixed and have their shots and they've been checked by a vet.

I'm planning on adopting one for only $19 dollars. Btw, if you go to petfinder(dot)com you can find bunnies for adoption from other places near you! It's nice to adopt, because these bunnies have been given up by owners.
