Revenge of the Titans - DRUNKEN FAMILY ARGUMENT Achievement - Glitched Method

First, update to version 1.80.15 manually: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=27735841

Steam:
1. Disable cloud saving: Right-click on Steam taskbar icon, Library, Right-click on Revenge of the Titans, Properties, Updates tab, uncheck cloud saving.

Windows Vista/7
1. Navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME
2. Extract the contents of the zip here so it looks like: C:\Users\USERNAME\.revenge_of_the_titans_1.80

Windows XP
1. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\
2. Extract the contents of the zip here so it looks like: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\.revenge_of_the_titans_1.80


Mac OS X
1. Open up Terminal (shift+command+u, open Terminal)
2. Type without quotes: 'defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE', press enter then type, 'killall Finder' (Replace TRUE and FALSE with YES and NO if running OSX Lion)
3. Shift+command+G, type '~/Library/Application Support'
4. Extract contents of zip here so it'll look like: ...Application Support/.revenge_of_the_titans_1.80
5. Open up Terminal again
6. Type without quotes: 'defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE', press enter then type, 'killall Finder'

In-game:
1. Start the game and make sure the active profile says "Dweezy". If not, create it.
2. Start the xmas bonus map, you SHOULD get the prompt to load a save file. Load it!
3. Hold TAB to fast forward. NOTHING else is required. Ignore things breaking apart.
4. PROFIT!!! And say thanks to Dweezy by subbing, thumbing, and commenting.

Remember to revert back to cloud saving if you wish

When I load the game, I still end up losing...For some reason, the base isn't visible and I don't see any turrets either. Only some smaller support class buildings, which are light blue (dunno if that means anything).

@Kaltag01 Here are the signs that you didn't copy all the files over correctly: When you try to start the xmas level, you go right back to the main menu. Also, when you go into the xmas level after that, the GUI looks broken, things look broken or missing. The problem is you didn't copy over the prefs file from the dl also. You have to have ALL the files! :D Try that out :)

@TheSoupy77 Follow the instructions exactly again, see if that does it for you. Make sure to copy/paste/replace using the entire download. You need all the files for it to work. Also, turn off cloud saving.

any achievement that takes a cheat to crack is a completely fail achievement. Most of them are not this stupid.

I know it's probably something with missing files, but I spent a looooong time on this. I redid everything multiple times - deleting the file, downloading it again, extracting it many many times with two different extractors, and I still can't get it to work. All the files do show up (including the prefs file) but it just doesn't work. And after a while, it didn't even ask me to load the saved game any more, so apparently I made it worse.

I don't like cheating... but I had been trying to get these one since the day that achievement got available and I still couldn't. So I really thank you for helping me with this one.

I still will try it again later. But for the time being I can already say that I got my final Christmachievement out!
