In May 1941, the naval juggernaughts HMS Hood and KMS Bismark, the embodiment of their nations meet in the Atlantic and fought to the death. Please respect that brave men on both sides fought and died for thier countries bravely. Music is from the Transformers movie. I will delete any disrepectful postings.

  • just a thought but are the German guns not trained to the wrong side?

  • at one point they arte, that was a goof from the show I just left in.

  • 1:15 After tests in Baltic sea she returned to Blohm und Voss to remove the range finders of turret Anton. From now on Turret A was given data from Turret Bertha or command post.

BTW very good video and excellent music!

  • Thank you. She also lost her anchor at the very tip of her bow before she left Norway.

  • @NJtuber88 The Iowas where an overpriced obsolete ships by the time they where lurnched.

  • Are you kidding the Iowas were way better protected than the Bismark! Jsut look at the ship stats sometimes! Not only were the Iowas faster and better armed than anything the English and Germans put out but they were more heavily armored! And with better rangefinding and cruising range.

  • @Pilot853 OOhhh, be prepared for some backlash from Iowa fans mate, they think Iowa class were the best BB's ever!! Lost count of number of times I have got flak from them, harping on about thier fantastic 16" guns. Fact is niether class were tested in ship to ship combat. Personally, I agree with you, all things being equal, (which they rarely are in war!!) with same quality crew, Yamato would win thanks to her thicker armour and 18" guns.

  • We should have had a cup of tea together instead...

  • @admiraldma It would probably be Yamato either way. The Iowa class ships were designed for speed, not protection. They were more heavily armored than battlecruisers like the Hood, but they still had poor armor protection compared to most other battleships.

  • Brave men one and all

  • @yourexistanceisover Well for a start, Hood would stand no chance! She was a Battlecruiser NOT a Battleship, so massively underarmoured. Bismarck could take a lot of punishment, but was actually a very average design, but well armoured, as proven by her resistance to being punished by 2 battleships for an hour or so. Would be between Iowa or Yamato, would probably go down to the best trained crew!

  • Hypothetically if HMS Hood, KMS Bismarck, IJN Yamato and USS Iowa become all hostile, I just wonder who would be the last ship standing, or floating.

  • @MrNeversaynever And if it missed it would have been a poor shot?
