Eating the Bhut Jolokia Pepper

2 friends and myself each eat one whole Bhut Jolokia Pepper. This is the hottest pepper in the world at approximately 1,000,000 Scoville units. Tabasco is 1,500 SU. The Bhut Jolokia is 666.66 times hotter than Tabasco. In my book this pepper is one of the hottest damn thing I have ever eaten. This is my limit - I know when I have had enough. Anything hotter than this is going to be too much.

Yep - they were real.

To put it in perspective we are some extreme peppers eaters. We like fresh Habaneros on everything.

We are also sauce collectors - we play a game using a sauce called Da' Bomb The Final Answer that is 1.5 Million Scoville Units. Which is technically hotter than a Bhut Jolokia - according to Chemistry. We put it directly on wings one drop at a time and keep daring each other to go higher. We are up to 7 drops in one bite. That is nothing compared to this pepper

I can tell you Chemistry is completely full of crap!

I was really suffering there and about 1 millimeter from being over the top. My friends and I are rather competitive. About an hour after this we declared a truce because we decided someone was going to get hurt or need a colon transplant.

The video is to short to show how much I was hurting about 1 hour later when the heart burn kicked in - I never get heart burn.

Bottom line - I am a bit scared of this pepper now and have a lot of respect for it.

@smalpree its not that i dont believe you ate some sort of pepper but the fact of the matter is these seeds inside the pepper have a scoville measurement of over 1,000,000 units when a jalapeno only has around 2,500.(even can be harmful to the human skin) The lack of reaction from the three of you seems to lure some away from thinking its actually a bhut jolokia
