This movie reminds me more of Universal's "Kharis" series in the 40s as opposed to their 1932 film. I know the '32 version is generally considered superior, but I just always found those from the 40s and this one more fun.

Along with the 1930s 'The Mummy', this is my favourite Mummy film. I am always uncertain whether I prefer this to the original slightly. For sure, it has stronger direction (no offense to Freund) and pacing.

@nicktesla45 I chose to cast a non-skinny guy for the mummy in our live show because he could carry around victims weighing between 105 and 175 pounds! Sorry, but if you can't pick up the leading lady...
