Do you also think the former Chairman of the DSM Task Force, Allen Frances is part of the "witch hunt" when he recently said mental disorders are "bull..." look it up. Google search Allen Frances DSM. While you're at it search Loren Mosher, David Kaiser,Colin Ross, Ron Liefer - all part of the "witch hunt" and ALL psychiatrists. Yep.

yep. you pretty much spelled it out for us. the idea of mental illness is directed at people who are against social control policies designed by governments. mental illness does exist on some level. people have problems with anxiety and get depressed, but the DSM blows things way out of proportion. these psych meds aren't good for people. i think i'm just going to stay a hick.

The whole concept of psychiatry was developed well before 1900 in Germany to get rid of people complaining. The first use of directed energy weapons can be recognized in psychiatric literature from 1908. You find it in chapter Psychiatrie-->Klinik der Narkolepsie on my homepage. During the NAZI time this concept was given up as Germany just murdered oponents. It was relaunched directly after the war to persecute and silence concentration camp survivors.

He is only saying there is no proof that mental illness can only be treated with meds because it's only a brain disease. This is pretty true as is the same for other "medical" problems. So often we don't know what causes medical problems such as cancer or inflammation but we'll treat that won't we?

As far as I can remember, Allen Frances was only against the revisions for the controversial DSM-V, that it needs an independent scientific review, among others. He was, however, not saying mental illness is a fraud in general -- which I find weird 'cause he was after all the chairman of the task force that created the current DSM-IV.

But apart from that, mental illness is real. And this is not because some psychiatrist told me. But because my own life told me. Among my worst experience with it was when I was unaware of them. I once considered social anxiety as simply "shyness" and OCD as simply stress getting the best of me in high school. And these misconceptions almost destroyed me. I made 9 attempts on my life at that time, blaming myself for these "mistakes".
