does anyone know the size of the block that is used?

gotta be near that E-stop buddy! Sometimes parts slip when gripping on raw surfaces like that. Lots of barstock has flat spots and out of roundness from the steel mill that dont grip properly

@agwhitaker with the right pressure on a hydraulic chuck, you can get away with it, i turn material 8 inches in diameter and about 5 inches long..only holding onto 12mm in the jaws and a 8 inch chuck

combination of too little grip and too many RPM's.

Aie l'outil mort !

hit the stop button maybe? slow reaction from the operator....
-
Uh oh, it's crashing, better go catch it
I am a an old fashioned conventional machinist,
But I wonder why so little of the raw material was in the chuck.
No grip !!
