And, what could cause the engine to shut off when you pull on the gas lever?
-
should idle at 900rpm
-
Whats the recommended RPM for the vw engine?
-
I actually fixed it today, i just had to adjust the screw thats right next to the choke, to tight. But now, my idleing isn't where it should be, it has a low rpm, i've been adjusting the big screw on the left side of the carb, could it be my idle cut off solenoid?
-
Hey, can you help me solve a problem? When i push on the gas, the car will stall. How can this happen?

Unless you've got equipment to measure 900rpm it's all guess work anyway. This 'series' is for the DIY'r at home...but yeah 900rpm would be nice :)

NOw there's an open ended question :) when at idle? to get the fuel level? revving? at high rpm? If you've got a timing light that measures the exact rpm then you're one step ahead of me. I don't. Done by ear and 'feel' ... sorry... that's all I can advise on this one.

Won't be your cutoff solenoid. Idle too high can be the throttle screw too tight. Should adjust with choke off (engine up to temp ot been running for a few minutes) The big screw is the boy. Take it all the way out and check the surface. Should be smooth. If it's pitted or ridged then won't work right or the tiny o-ring seal: this should be in good working order or will pass air etc and giving poor and random mix.
