Sakamichi no Apollon - Trailer

Trailer for the new anime TV series by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo).

Synopsis:
Nishimi Kaoru has moved from city to city and school to school because of his father's job. So the first day at his new school was just routine for him. Being intellectual and the new transfer student, he has always been seen as an outcast and all Kaoru had to do was bare it until the next time he moved. But things were slightly different this time. First, he started to get close to the class president, Mukae Ritsuko, and, secondly, unlikely as it seemed, grew closer to Kawabuchi Sentaro. Sentaro was infamous for getting into fights, skipping class and was an overall bad boy. Strangely enough, the three of them find common ground in music, namely jazz, and Kaoru finds himself actually enjoying the new town.

I really hope people don't push the Sento and Kauro as a yaoi pairing. Their friendship is so well written, and one of the main bloody themes of the entire series. It's like ignoring the whole balance of the show.

Best anime I've seen aside from rainbow Nisha rokubo no shichinin. And OMFG people! Enough with the yaoi arguments. If some people want to see it as Yaoi or Shounen-Ai, just let them.

Although it was kind of gay how the main character met the guy, they had a beautiful friendship. Remember, this was back in the days so guys weren't afraid to show affection towards the other and no one will interpret it as gay either since it was kind of unheard of.

dude, any thing that has watanabe's effort on it is way more than good, for me i like sakamichi more that samurai, but both are epic and in a different stage compared to any other anime, for me at least.

But if I did then I apologize to all those that I have offended. I have nothing against homosexuals, I'm against tv shows and movies that perpetuate it and as a result program heterosexuals into homosexual activities.

Homophobic - unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality. Antipathy meaning deep-seated feeling of dislike.

I don't want to see two males being sexually intimate as much as I don't want to see a male and a female or a female and a female being intimate. I don't like seeing sex being advertised everywhere either.

My point is that these shows may very well be programming people into homosexuality or acts of homosexuality. What homosexuals do is their business

LOL are you joking? Korea is EXTREMELY homophobic. They think homosexuality is a foreign disease brought in from the west, thats why most of them dont concern themselves with looking or acting 'too gay.' Have you seen Korean dramas like You're Beautiful? Jeremy's entire character revolves around being disgusted and terrified of "being turned gay" and this is used AS COMIC RELIEF. Gay people are the enemy in these shows. USA isn't much better but dont call Korea gay-friendly for gods sake.

Gay people and women have to watch straight cisgender men hitting on their idealized visions of women all the fucking time on bus ad, magazine ads, television, billboards, book covers, etfuckingcetera. The entire world caters to your delicate sexist homophobic sensibilities. ONE show or ten that show gay characters openly and honestly is not going to ruin your world, homophobe. get a grip.
