@Kirke182 Yeah one of the earlier comments here cleared that up, I think. I know Trixie recorded it at various times, with various back ups, and even with various lyrics. I was just giving the info I had in the CD insert, which as you probably know isn't always correct. Thanks for your comment.

@killerdillr yes this is the first song to use the term "rock and roll". It was slang for sex. Google it.

Thanks, I wasn't sure who the musicians were in most of these songs I have from that time period, just the singers.

The two CDs that I have are supposed to be Vol 1 1922-1924 and Vol 2 1925-1929. I did read though where she recorded a session with Sidney Bechet in 1938. I guess the CDs are labeled wrong.? There are two versions of this same song on this CD so I wonder then how many of the other songs are from that 1938 session. Anyway, thank you for the information. :)

Actually the title to this song is My Daddy Rocks Me. Trixie also did a song called My Man Rocks Me, that has basically the same chorus, though the rest of the song is different. I'll put it up later, the quality of it just is not all that hot.

And to this day, blacks continue to be oversexed when it comes to the music business.
They've made a lot of great music, but they definitely like to push the sexual envelope.

this makes it seem like 'rock n roll' was already a common term, It would be good to know when it was first used in the modern sense like this

Wow, never heard this before. Utterly fantastic and sooo dirty it's just unbelievable. I've just listened to Elvis' "That's Alright Mama" from 32 years later (!!) and honest to got there's not a chasm of difference. If someone want to argue this, from 1922 is the first ever rock n'roll song, I'm not going to argue. Staggering.
